Why Arizona?

Affordable & Reliable

Arizona’s energy economy and growth are dependent on reliable, secure, and sustainable power that is also cost efficient. With the state experiencing unprecedented growth in population, business activity, manufacturing and more – there is higher energy usage causing increased need for electric power.

Demand for an affordable power source, an accessible grid, and strong community support makes Arizona the right place to invest in renewable resources.

A Strong Energy Resource

Invenergy’s diverse, innovative energy solutions power Arizona's continued energy leadership by supplying affordable, sustainable and diversified energy to the grid. According to the Environmental Energy Information Administration (EIA), “Arizona ranks 2nd overall in the nation for solar energy potential and ranks among the top five states in the nation for total solar-powered generating capacity from both utility- and small-scale installations, with more than 5,483 megawatts.” (eia.gov) The potential for solar energy capacity (among other renewable energy generation such as wind and storage) remains vast, allowing the state an opportunity to become a leader in clean cost-efficient energy solutions.

Leader in Energy Storage

  • To meet peak energy requirements and balance energy produced from wind, solar and other resources, energy storage provides a critical bridge to ensure that power remains reliable and affordable in Arizona.
  • According to American Clean Power (ACP) energy storage is critical to an efficient, clean electric grid and enables us to produce clean energy when it’s abundant, store it, and put it back into the electricity grid when needed.
  • Invenergy currently has a total of 11 operating energy storage facilities in Arizona with a combined energy capacity of more than 261 megawatts. Learn more below about our operational projects and projects in current development here.
