Invenergy’s El Sol Team hosts Ribbon Cutting and Soldier’s Best Friend Donation event

On November 18th, 2024, Invenergy and the El Sol Team hosted a grand opening ceremony Ribbon Cutting and donation event with Soldier’s Best Friend – an organization dedicated to helping U.S. military veterans living with combat-related Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) by pairing them with Service or Therapeutic Companion Dogs.

Invenergy Operations and Maintenance Manager and Veteran Vicente Juarez presented Soldier’s Best Friend with the donation of $10,000, enough to match one veteran with a service animal and provide 200 treat bags to participating veterans. Currently, 7 of the 10 Operations and Maintenance team members in Arizona are Veterans.

Other speakers at the event included ACC Commissioner Lea Marquez Peterson, Senator Frank Carroll, and Youngtown Mayor Michael LeVault, along with representatives from Invenergy, Soldier’s Best Friend and APS.

The newly operational El Sol Energy Storage Center is another step toward a more reliable and resilient grid for our state. I am excited to celebrate the completion of this utility-scale battery storage that will bring cleaner and more affordable energy to Arizona’s ratepayers.
